Allied Universal is hiring an Armed Security Officer for Peoria, IL. The role involves patrolling government locations, maintaining a visible presence to deter incidents, and delivering professional customer service to employees and visitors.

You'll support security operations with compliance to site policies and post orders. The position requires at least one year of security experience, an armed guard card, and the ability to pass background checks and drug screens.

Qualifications

• Possess at least one year of security-related experience.
• Possess a valid armed guard card or license.
• A valid firearms permit is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and authorized personnel at a government location by carrying out site-specific procedures, access protocols, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials, permits, and authorizations in accordance with applicable site policies and post orders.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports of patrol activities, incidents, and unusual conditions, and maintain required equipment in accordance with post orders.
