Allied Universal in Arlington, VA seeks an Armed Patrol Security Officer to protect government facilities and provide professional customer service. This full-time role involves patrolling, monitoring access, and responding to incidents, with a focus on safety and compliance.

The position requires law enforcement or security experience, an armed guard license, and a 21+ age minimum. Daily shifts include standard daytime hours, with a strong emphasis on report accuracy and post-order adherence.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of law enforcement experience or at least 2 years of security supervisor/manager experience.
• Armed guard card/license is required.
• At least 3 years of combined law enforcement, corrections, and/or military experience or at least 5 years of armed security experience.
• At least 5 years of security experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by federal, state, and local laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements depend on state/local laws and regulations; may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control requirements, and emergency response activities at government facilities.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual conditions, unauthorized activity, and maintenance concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and applicable procedures.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials as required; assist with directing visitors and maintaining orderly entry and exit procedures.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain required logs related to patrols, incidents, observations, and other security-related activities.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 1 year of law enforcement experience or at least 2 years of security supervisor/manager experience.
• An armed guard card/license is required.
• Have at least 3 years of combined law enforcement, corrections, and/or military experience or at least 5 years of armed security experience.
• Have at least 5 years of security experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
