Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Armed Patrol Operator in Reston, VA for a part-time role with a healthcare location. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain visible to deter incidents, and assist patients, staff and visitors with strong customer service and communication.

Responsibilities include responding to incidents, conducting patrols, monitoring access points, and reporting concerns per site protocols.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Armed guard card and/or license.
• Must be at least 21 years old for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen as required by law.
• Willingness to complete industry-specific security training.
• Driver's license required for driving positions only.

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $21.74 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Sat: 07:00 PM - 07:00 AM
• Sun: 07:00 PM - 07:00 AM

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to a healthcare location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation and notifying appropriate personnel when needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and report security-related concerns, policy violations, hazards, and/or suspicious activity in accordance with site protocols.
• Document incidents, observations, and daily activities through required reports and communicate relevant information to supervisors and/or client representatives.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Have customer service experience preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
