This job provides security for patients, guests, and employees as assigned, enforces company policies and procedures, and performs duties that ensure the security of all in a courteous and professional manner.

Education

Required - High School diploma or equivalent

Work Experience

Required - 1 year of experience in Security, law enforcement, or military

Certifications

Required - Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association

Valid driver’s license in the state of practice and a clean DMV report

Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI), and firearms training

International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Certification to be obtained within 90 days of hire/promotion

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

• Must have computer skills for data entry and information retrieval
• Proficiency with Windows applications and keyboard
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Must report for duty as essential personnel during disasters
• Ability to read, write, and speak English
• Ability to walk the company property, including outside areas and stairwells in an 11-floor structure

Job Duties

• Enforce safety and security rules and policies
• Conduct routine inspections of company locations
• Investigate accidents and incidents, report promptly
• Perform building opening/lockdown and other security duties
• Participate in emergency drills
• Maintain certifications and training requirements
• Adapt behavior to patient population, respecting privacy and communication styles
• Other related duties as required
