Job Description

As a Security Officer Armed Patrol in Richmond, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Security Officer in a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a secure environment for visitors and staff. You will provide exceptional customer service, clear communication, and professional response to security-related concerns. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or contractors at a government facility by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control requirements, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials, permits, and/or visitor authorizations in accordance with established site policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; communicate with appropriate personnel and emergency responders as needed.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain required activity logs for patrols, incidents, access-control events, and other security-related observations.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a valid armed guard card or license.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
