Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Officer Armed Driver Emergency Preparedness in Signal Hill, CA. You will protect government locations, monitor areas, and provide excellent customer service while driving as needed.

Position offers flexible shifts with a pay rate of $22.00 per hour. Minimum qualifications include armed guard credentials, security experience, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Have at least 6 months armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
• A valid driver’s license is required per policy.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, subject to background investigation per laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories.
• Subject to a drug screen as permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and the public by carrying out security procedures and site policies.
• Respond to incidents and inquiries calmly and follow post orders and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization, reporting unusual activity.
• Prepare accurate daily activity reports, incident documentation, and shift handoffs.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
• Respond to incidents, public inquiries, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization as directed by site procedures, and report unusual activity or concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Prepare accurate daily activity reports, incident documentation, and shift handoff communications in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Have at least 6 months of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
