Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer Armed Deterrence Patrol in Birmingham, AL. You will provide customer service to passengers and staff, conduct armed patrols at transit facilities, and respond to incidents with calm, professional action.

A Concealed Carry Weapons Permit and at least one year of security experience are required. Position offers flexible scheduling and opportunities to advance through our Shift-claim platform, along with comprehensive training and benefits.

Qualifications

• Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical situations, and other critical situations calmly and coordinate with appropriate personnel.
• Conduct armed patrols of transit facilities, platforms, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.

Pay Rate: $18.05 / Hour

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a public transportation location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical situations, and other critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, contacting appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as needed.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of transit facilities, platforms, parking areas, vehicles, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout assigned areas, reporting suspicious behavior, hazards, and policy violations in accordance with site procedures.
• Prepare clear and accurate reports of incidents, patrols, and other security-related activities while maintaining professional communication with transit personnel and the public.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a Concealed Carry Weapons Permit.
• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• Handcuffing certification is preferred.
• An Armed Guard Card or license is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
