Job summary

Cherokee Nation Businesses (CNB) in Oklahoma seeks a security professional to safeguard facilities, guests, vendors, and staff. You will patrol interior and exterior areas, greet visitors, and respond to incidents, providing aid and coordinating with local authorities as needed.

This safety sensitive role requires a CLEET armed security license, the ability to pass custody and weapons training, and a valid driver’s license. Shift work, including weekends, is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and six months of security experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• State CLEET armed security guard license required.
• Ability to acquire Cherokee Nation Armed Security Officer license.
• Working knowledge of firearms and defensive tactics.
• Working knowledge of surveillance video system and chain of evidence maintenance.
• Ability to pass security custody control and weapons training.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provides protection for CNB facilities and reports hazards to leadership.
• Prevents entry with prohibited items; addresses policy violations.
• Patrols CNB facilities both inside and outside.
• Greets guests and provides directions and assistance.
• Aids guests or employees who require help.
• Responds to accidents; performs CPR and first aid when needed.
• Detects suspicious activity and notifies leadership.
• Maintains relations with local law enforcement and fire departments.
• Gathers information and writes detailed incident reports; maintains security logs.
• Performs knowledge of excluded persons in operations.
• Prepares written investigations and patrol reports.
• Interviews witnesses and obtains signatures; complies with laws.
• Monitors cameras across facility as assigned.
• No supervisory responsibilities.
• Work may be in office or outdoors; weather varies.
• May require lifting up to 50lbs.
• Shifts may include weekends and holidays; other duties as assigned.

Provide a safe and secure environment for guests, vendors, and employees of Cherokee Nation Businesses (CNB).

Responsibilities

• Provides protection for the physical assets of CNB facilities including guests, vendors, and employees; reports all safety hazards to leadership.
• Prevents individuals from entering premises with prohibited items; addresses individuals who are in violation of policies and procedures.
• Patrols the physical facilities of CNB facilities including interior and exterior areas.
• Greets guests and provides directions and assistance, as needed.
• Provides aid to any guest or employee who may request or require it.
• Responds to accidents and incidents; performs CPR and first aid procedures, as needed.
• Detects suspicious activity and behavior of individuals and employees and notifies leadership.
• Maintains a good working relationship with local law enforcement agencies and fire and safety departments.
• Gathers information and prepares detailed written reports of incidents and maintains security logs in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Performs operational knowledge of excluded persons.
• Prepares written reports of investigations, criminal, and patrol activities.
• Interviews witnesses and obtains signatures; complies with legal regulations.
• Monitors cameras in all areas of facility as assigned by location.
• No supervisory/management authority.
• Work may be performed in a variety of settings, including climate-controlled office settings and/or outdoors in all types of weather.
• Work may require lifting and carrying materials up to 50lbs.
• Work requires working varied shifts including weekends and holidays, as needed.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and six (6) months of security experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• State of Oklahoma Council of Law Enforcement, Education, and Training (CLEET) armed security guard license required.
• Ability to acquire a Cherokee Nation Armed Security Officer license.
• Working knowledge of firearms and defensive tactics.
• Working knowledge of surveillance video system and how chain of evidence is maintained.
• Ability to pass a security approved custody control and weapons training.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
