Job summary

New Era Security Services Inc. is seeking armed security officers with active or prior law enforcement experience to join our weekend and rotating weekday shifts across diverse sites in New York.

This role requires strict adherence to post orders, the ability to work nights or weekends, and readiness to coordinate with local law enforcement as needed. Applicants must meet licensing requirements and pass a drug test.

Qualifications

• Be at least 21 years of age for armed positions.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or have prior armed security experience.
• Have verifiable existing or prior law enforcement or government work history.
• As a condition of employment, applicants may be subject to a drug test.
• Licensing requirements depend on state/local laws for active or retired officers.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service.
• Follow and enforce company post orders and site-specific post orders.
• Follow and enforce emergency response post orders.
• Respond to incidents.
• Perform foot patrol tours both interior and exterior.
• Stand for periods of time.
• Work in rain, snow, or other weather conditions.
• Work with Law enforcement and other agencies as needed.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Armed Security Officer (Active or Prior Law enforcement)

*This application is intended for active/retired law enforcement officers only such as police, court, corrections, probation, parole, and other government experience.

As an Armed Security Officer, you may work in a variety of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, Healthcare, Education, Residential, Construction, Religious Organizations, Government buildings, and more.

We are looking to hire 1 or 2 trained officers with existing or prior law enforcement experience and training to work weekends and various weekdays

• Friday between 9pm-3am
• Saturday between 9pm-3am
• Sunday between 8pm - 2am

*These hours will vary between those time frames and will be subject to change as needed with proper notice given.

1 or 2 rotating week days,

• Mon - Fri between 8pm-3am

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service.
• Follow and enforce company post orders and site-specific post orders.
• Follow and enforce emergency response post orders.
• Respond to incidents.
• Perform foot patrol tours both interior and exterior.
• Stand for period of time.
• Work in rain, snow, or other weather related conditions.
• At times work as a team.
• Outside foot patrol, continuous
• Reporting of all activity
• Working with Law enforcement and other agencies as needed.

Qualifications:

• Be at least 21 years of age for armed positions.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or have prior armed security experience.
• Have verifiable existing or prior law enforcement experience, or have existing / prior probation, corrections, parole, court officer or other verifiable government work history and experience.
• As a condition of employment, applicants may be subject to a drug test based on the client site or contract.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws:
  • For active police officers:
    • You must only provide your valid, photo work id card, from your police department/agency.
  • For active probation, corrections, parole, court officers, and other government employee officers:
    • In New York state, a valid, non expired, New York statearmed security guard licensecontaining a verifiable UID is required prior to employment.
    • A validNY State full carry permit, may be required prior to employment unless your valid work ID allows you to carry on/off duty.
    • A valid NY city permit or endorsement may also be required for those who will be working in the5 boroughs of New York Cityprior to employment unless your valid work ID allows you to carry on/off duty.
  • For retired police officers, and retired probation, corrections, parole, court officers, and other government employee officers:
    • In New York state, a valid, non expired, New York state armed security guard license containing a verifiable UID is required prior to employment.
    • A valid NY State full carry permit is required prior to employment.
    • A valid NY city permit or endorsement is required for those who will be working in the 5 boroughs of New York Cityprior to employment. (You can work outside of that area should you not possess one while we assist in helping you obtain one)
  • For driving / executive protection positions:
    • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only and will be subject to a motor vehicle report check with state DMV.
