Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced in Sullivan, IN. The role provides flexible hours with fixed anchor shifts and opportunities to pick extra shifts through our scheduling platform to increase earnings. Primary duties include armed patrols, emergency response, and access control at a utility site.

Pay rate is $18.85 per hour. Typical schedule includes Tue/Wed 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM, with a six-month anchor shift commitment and potential to scale hours up to 40 per

Qualifications

• Concealed carry permit required for armed role.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• This is primarily a driving post.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Must be 21 years or older for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check will be conducted as per law.
• A drug screen may be required.
• Participate in industry-specific security training.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a utility location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following site protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, access points, parking areas, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor and control access to restricted utility areas, verify visitor/contractor authorization, and maintain logs/reports.
• Observe and report unusual conditions, hazards, equipment concerns, and security-related incidents to site management and Allied Universal leadership.

Pay Rate: $18.85 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Tue: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Wed: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It's all up to you.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess a concealed carry weapons permit.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• This is primarily a driving post.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
