Job summary

First Coast Security is seeking an Armed Security Officer in Jacksonville, FL. The role involves patrolling interior and exterior areas, monitoring entrances, and maintaining weapon readiness to ensure a secure environment.

You will respond to alarms and emergencies, observe for hazards, and provide service to employees, visitors, and contractors while upholding a professional appearance and strong work ethic.

Qualifications

• Must obtain Armed Security License as required by state with 2 years Armed Security experience or prior military, law enforcement, or corrections experience.
• Must obtain First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
• Must pass a drug screen, driving record check, and background check.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Must be over 21 years old.
• Proficient English language communication, reading, and writing skills.
• Able to meet all physical demands, including lifting up to 40 lbs., and standing for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Conduct armed interior/exterior patrols and monitor entrances, exits, and access points.
• Maintain weapon readiness and follow firearm safety protocols.
• Observe and report hazards or suspicious activity and complete daily logs and incident reports.
• Respond to alarms, incidents, and emergencies following site procedures.
• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors.
• Maintain a clean and professional appearance at all times.

As an Armed Security Officer, you will monitor entrances, complete patrols, assist visitors, and respond to any safety concerns on site. You’ll help maintain a secure environment by staying alert, following post orders, and documenting important activity throughout your shift.
