Job Requirements

Job SummaryMust be a sworn member of the Anne Arundel County Police Department. Officer shall be in good standing with the Anne Arundel County Police Department. Officers are required to possess a Maryland Police Training Commission (MPTC) Card and Anne Arundel County Police credentials. Officer must adhere to Anne Arundel County Police Department policies regarding secondary employment.

Primary Responsibilities

• Functions with an awareness and application of safety/legal/emergency standards as identified within the institution.


• Ensures confidentiality and rights of patients and employees and the confidentiality of all hospital and departmental documents, including following HIPAA.


• Ability to follow oral and written instructions, seeking guidance when appropriate.


• Assumes responsibility for job duties and is accountable for own actions.


• Adheres to and enforces all hospital and department policies and procedures.


• Demonstrates understanding of hospital compliance policies.


• Performs related duties as required or assigned.

Work Experience Education & Experience - Required

• Two (2) years previous experience as a police officer in good standing with their assigned Agency in the State of Maryland or MPTC card equivalent


• Sworn police officer in the State of Maryland


• Education requirements shall be equal to the requirement put forth by Anne Arundel Police Department.
