Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer for apartment complex access control in Newport Beach, CA. You will manage resident, visitor, and vendor access, monitor entry points, and respond to security concerns to maintain a welcoming and secure environment.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of security-related experience.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, guests, and property staff by carrying out access control procedures and appropriate emergency response activities.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify authorized access, and maintain visitor, contractor, and delivery records in accordance with property procedures.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of residential common areas, parking areas, building exteriors, and perimeter locations to identify and report unusual activity or property concerns.
• Communicate observations, incidents, and access-related issues to appropriate property contacts and Allied Universal leadership, completing required reports and documentation.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
