Job summary

Securitas Security Services USA, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Security Officer for full-time, on-site duty in Rochelle, IL. The role focuses on protecting people, property, and assets by patrolling premises, monitoring systems, controlling access, and responding to emergencies to maintain a safe environment.

You will serve as a helpful professional resource while ensuring safety protocols are followed by everyone on site. Prior security or related experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
• Above-average computer/technology skills needed.
• Prior security, law enforcement or military experience a plus.
• Must be able to work independently and provide excellent customer service.
• Must remain calm under pressure and stay vigilant during shift.
• Must respond to emergencies with rapid/effective judgement and appropriate escalation.
• Strong observational skills, excellent communication abilities, and quick decision-making capabilities.
• All candidates must be willing to participate in pre-employment screening including drug screen and background investigation.

Responsibilities

• Perform access control for inbound and outbound trucks at security gate.
• Keep active log of all trucks entering and exiting the facility.
• Maintain a secure environment that protects employees, customers, and visitors from harm.
• Respond effectively to emergencies and security incidents to minimize risk and damage.
• Uphold company policies, safety regulations, and legal compliance standards.
• Protect sensitive information and intellectual property from unauthorized access.
• Conflict resolution and de-escalation.
• Conduct regular patrols of premises including buildings, parking lots, and entry points to identify potential security risks.
• Monitor and operate surveillance cameras, alarm systems, and security equipment.

The Security Officer protects people, property, and assets by patrolling premises, monitoring systems, controlling access, and responding to emergencies to maintain a safe and secure environment. What Your Day May Look Like
