Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Patrol with Active Clearance in Charlottesville, VA. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, deter unauthorized activity, and support access control while delivering exceptional customer service at an aerospace/defense location.

The role requires an active DoD Secret clearance, 18+ (21+ for armed), a high school diploma, and the ability to lift up to 20 pounds. Excellent communication and reporting are essential.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret clearance is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Background investigation and drug screen may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors following site policies and emergency procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and access-control concerns calmly and report per procedures.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking, and perimeter.
• Verify credentials at access points for authorized personnel and visitors.
• Prepare clear reports of incidents and patrol activities for site leadership.

As a Patrol Unarmed Officer at a leading aerospace and defense location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, support access control activities, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors at an aerospace and defense location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, restricted-access points, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials for authorized personnel, visitors, and contractors in accordance with site-specific requirements.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports of incidents, observations, and patrol activities, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal management.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess an active DoD Secret clearance.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
