Job summary

Allied Universal in Newport, KY is seeking an Unarmed Security Officer to perform access verification patrols and deter security incidents. You will provide exceptional customer service, monitor entrances and common areas, and document activity with a tablet or computer while maintaining clear communication with site staff and leadership.

As a Security Officer Access Verification Patrol in Newport, KY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas at a dynamic public-facing location, maintaining a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. You will support access control, assist visitors with exceptional customer service, document activity using computer or tablet tools, and communicate professionally with team members. Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $16.50 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM


• Tue: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM


• Fri: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM


• Sat: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM


• Sun: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and/or tenants by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.


• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and actions according to site procedures.


• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the location, including common areas, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations, to help identify and report unusual activity or conditions.


• Monitor access points and observe visitor, tenant, and vendor activity, reporting concerns and/or policy violations to appropriate site contacts or emergency personnel.


• Maintain clear and professional communication with site personnel, the public, and Allied Universal leadership while completing required reports and shift documentation.

Minimum Requirements:

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.


• Customer service experience is preferred.


• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.


• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.


• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.


• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.


• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.


• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
