Job summary

Allied Universal, a leading security and facility services company, seeks a Security Officer - Access Governance in Lockport, IL. The role focuses on access-control, badge issuance, and maintaining secure entry points while working a daytime schedule.

You will monitor access points, verify credentials, and respond to alarms, ensuring compliance with site procedures and laws. A background check and drug screening are required during hiring.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology-focused location.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials, visitor registrations, and authorization requirements before permitting entry to restricted areas.
• Maintain accurate visitor, contractor, and access-related records, including issuing and collecting badges, keys, and other authorized access devices.
• Respond to access-control alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of entry points, lobby areas, parking areas, and the business perimeter to deter unauthorized access and identify security concerns.
