Job Description

As a Security Officer - Access Control - Afternoon Shift in Romulus, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution and more .

As an Access Control Officer in a logistics and distribution environment, you will monitor and patrol designated areas, helping to deter security-related incidents and unauthorized access. Your responsibilities include conducting routine patrols, maintaining a visible presence, and providing excellent customer service and communication to all personnel and visitors. You will play a key role in supporting a secure environment by verifying credentials and managing access points, all while upholding our values of teamwork, integrity, and a people-first approach.

Pay Rate: $18.37 / Hour

Responsibilities:

Provide customer service to clients by carrying out access control procedures and following site-specific policies, including responding to security-related incidents and emergencies as needed.
• Monitor entry and exit points to help to deter unauthorized access and maintain a secure environment within logistics and distribution locations.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and its perimeter to help to deter potential security-related issues and identify any irregularities.
• Maintain accurate records of access control activities, incidents, and observations as required by site procedures.
• Communicate professionally with staff, visitors, and delivery personnel to address inquiries and provide guidance on access control procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Must provide proof of high school diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
