Job summary

Allied Universal in Shelby, MI is seeking a Security Officer Access Control to protect personnel and visitors at a food and beverage location. You will manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and provide professional customer service to employees and visitors.

The role requires 18+ (21+ for armed), HS diploma, background check, drug screen, and valid license where applicable. This is a full-time, hourly position with shift scheduling in the evenings.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Background history considered in accordance with laws.
• Drug screen as a condition of employment.
• Licensing requirements may apply by state/local laws.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Pay Rate: $16.48 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTime: Wed 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM; Thu 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM; Fri 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM; Sat 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, vendors, and drivers by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities at a food and beverage production location.
• Monitor and control access points by verifying identification, visitor authorization, delivery appointments, and contractor credentials in accordance with site requirements.
• Maintain accurate visitor, vendor, contractor, and vehicle entry records; issue and collect visitor credentials as directed by site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; promptly communicate observations to appropriate site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, parking areas, exterior perimeter, and other designated areas; report unusual conditions, damaged barriers, and policy violations.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
