Allied Universal in Hurricane, WV is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Access Control to provide reliable, site-specific access control and respond to incidents at a utility location.

You will be hired for a fixed part-time schedule with opportunities to pick up extra shifts via our scheduling platform, earning $17.39 per hour and benefiting from paid training and growth opportunities within the company.

Qualifications

• Experience with access control systems and badge issuance.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel by carrying out site-specific access control procedures.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and authorization, manage visitor and contractor entry, and maintain logs.
• Respond to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and following site procedures.
• Monitor security systems including access control and alarm equipment, report irregularities.
• Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Access Control in Hurricane, WV, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $17.39 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeWed08:00 PM - 08:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel by carrying out site‑specific access control procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a utility location.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and authorization, manage visitor and contractor entry, and maintain accurate access‑related logs and records.
• Respond to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established site procedures and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Monitor security‑related systems, including access control and alarm equipment, and report irregularities, malfunctioning equipment, and unauthorized access attempts.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, access points, parking areas, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• Access Control/Badge Experience is preferred.
• CPR/First Aid is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
