Job summary

Allied Universal in Bluefield, WV is seeking a Security Officer Patrol to monitor and safeguard campus areas, deter incidents, and respond to alarms. The role emphasizes strong customer service to students, staff and visitors while using tech to document activity.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors and campus partners while following security procedures.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of campus buildings, residences, parking facilities, walkways, and perimeter areas.
• Respond to incidents, alarms and requests for assistance calmly and follow campus protocols.
• Document observations and patrol activity clearly in reports and share information with supervisors.

As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a university location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, support access control, and respond to alarms as needed. Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $17.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Thur: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Fri: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Sat: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Sun: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or campus partners while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, residence areas, parking facilities, walkways, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, or maintenance concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, requests for assistance, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established campus protocols.
• Document observations, patrol activity, incidents, and interactions through clear and accurate reports, and communicate relevant information to supervisors and appropriate campus personnel.
• Help maintain a welcoming learning environment by providing directions, access support, and assistance with campus events or other security-related needs.

Minimum Requirements:

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
