Reports To: Director of Operations
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Maintain a safe and secure environment for clients, employees, visitors, and families by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel.
2. Secure premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry.
3. Obtain help by sounding alarms.
4. Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures; and preventing trespassers.
5. Complete reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities; interviewing witnesses.
6. Maintain environment by monitoring and setting building and equipment controls.
7. Maintain organization’s stability and reputation by complying with company policies and procedures, state licensure requirements, and JCAHO standards.
8. Ensure operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturers' instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; and informing the maintenance director and director of operations of any problems.
9. Act lawfully at all times in direct defense of life or property.
10. Act as a consistent presence to deter criminals.
11. Report any suspicious or unusual occurrences to authorities and management.
12. Patrol premises randomly and regularly, including buildings and perimeter.
13. Monitor alarm systems and video cameras.
14. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Work experience as a security officer or other relevant position.
• Basic computer skills necessary for reporting and communications.
• Willingness to comply with all laws and institutional regulations at all times.
• Current TB test.
• Valid driver’s license.
