Job Summary

Safeguard, patrol, and monitor buildings, grounds, and property for the purpose of protecting lives and property while enforcing Virtua policy and procedure.

Position Responsibilities

1. Perform duties associated with assigned posts, including walking and mobile security rounds, stationary posts, traffic control, and special assignments.
2. Monitor doors, surveillance cameras, and alarms.
3. Utilize Health System technology for visitor control, incident reports, and access control.
4. Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and law enforcement.
5. Provide direction and escort visitors, vendors, and staff as needed.
6. Write reports of all security-related incidents during assigned shifts.
7. Verify ID badges for staff and proper identification for visitors.
8. Address minor maintenance issues or notify appropriate staff for support.
9. Respond to emergency situations and assist as required.

Position Qualifications

Experience Required: A minimum of 2 years in security experience preferred.

Required Skills: Must be mechanically inclined and familiar with small hand tools. Clear communication skills (verbal and written).

Required Education

HS diploma or equivalent.

Training/Certifications/Licensure

CPR certification preferred. Security Officers Registration Act (SORA) certification preferred. Valid Driver's license required.
