Security Officer - Concord, MA

Pay Rate: $21.00/hour

Location: Concord, MA

Position Overview:

Securitas Security Services is seeking dedicated and vigilant Security Officers to join our team at a private boarding school in Concord, MA. The ideal candidate will provide a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors while maintaining a visible and professional presence on campus. This role requires excellent communication skills, keen attention to detail, and a proactive approach to ensuring the safety of this school community.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Monitor and patrol the campus, including buildings, grounds, and parking areas, to detect any suspicious activity or security breaches.
2. Respond promptly to emergencies, including medical incidents, fire alarms, and security breaches.
3. Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency personnel when necessary.
4. Monitor security cameras, alarm systems, and other surveillance equipment to ensure proper functioning.
5. Assist in managing access control by checking IDs and screening visitors and vendors at designated entrances.
6. Write detailed incident reports and document any unusual occurrences or accidents.
7. Conduct security checks on school vehicles, dormitories, classrooms, and event spaces as required.
8. Ensure proper security measures are in place during school events, activities, and extracurricular programs.
9. Offer general assistance to students, staff, and visitors as needed.
10. Promote a culture of safety through proactive communication and education.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent (required); college degree or relevant certifications in security or criminal justice (preferred).
2. Prior experience in security or law enforcement (preferred).
3. Strong observational and problem-solving skills.
4. Ability to remain calm and effective in emergency situations.
5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with individuals of all ages and backgrounds.
6. Basic computer skills and the ability to use security systems and reporting tools.
7. Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks.
8. Must be physically capable of walking, standing, and patrolling large areas for extended periods of time.
9. Must pass background check and drug screening.

Work Schedule:

Shifts may vary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to ensure 24/7 security coverage. On-call responsibilities may be required during peak times or emergencies.
