Job Information: Safeguard, patrol, and monitor buildings, grounds, and property for the purpose of protecting lives, property, prevent theft, fire, vandalism, and unauthorized entry while abiding by and enforcing Virtua policy and procedure. Assist visitors, patients, vendors, and staff providing excellent customer services, hospitality, and a positive experience. Conduct weapon screening at public entrances with approved technology. Provide accurate information, directions and respond to all emergency situations. Escalate emergency situations to law enforcement as needed. Monitor alarms and security cameras.
Perform duties associated with all assigned posts, including walking and mobile security rounds, stationary posts, traffic control, and special assignments. Monitor doors, surveillance cameras, and alarms. Utilize health system technology for visitor control, data input/output, weapon screening, investigations, incident reports, shift logs, access control, infant protection, and security of sensitive areas. Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, law enforcement, and other stakeholders. Provide directions, escort visitors, verify ID badges and obtain proper passes. Respond to emergency situations such as CODE Security and CODE RED alerts, hazardous spills, and use specialized equipment as required.
Preferred 2 years of security experience. Ability to stay levelheaded and respond quickly in stressful situations. Proficient in written and oral communication skills.
HS diploma or equivalent.
Valid Driver’s License required. NJ Security Officers Registration Act (SORA) certification preferred.
