Job description

Details of Job: Maintain a safe and secure environment for guests, employees, volunteers, lessees, and all other guests of Six Flags St. Louis. Provide in-park security patrol, respond to security-related incidents, screen guests at the front gate, and complete any and all assignments given by security management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Secure gates, checking, logging, and clearing authorized personnel and vehicles presenting proper identification or passes attempting to gain access to the park.
  2. Maintain confidentiality and integrity of information disclosed, accidentally discovered or communicated as an officer with or without specific instructions to do so of guests, vendors, lessees, and all other customers.
  3. Respond to security-related incidents occurring on park property.
  4. Write clear and concise reports.
  5. Enforce local, state, and federal laws occurring on property.
  6. Safeguard company assets, property, equipment, and facilities against illegal and destructive acts.
  7. Must call in and out using the EAS system.
  8. Maintain proper attendance and timeliness.
  9. Set high standards of performance for all areas within their responsibilities.
  10. Respond to any emergency situation in the area and maintain control until an area supervisor arrives.
  11. Ensure that image, cleanliness, and courtesy standards are met.
  12. Refrain from consuming any substance that may impair judgment.
  13. Cooperate with all team members and managers.
  14. Complete any and all tasks as requested by Six Flags St. Louis management.
  15. Comply with Six Flags St. Louis handbook policies at all times.

Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Must be at least 21 years of age.
  2. Must be a high school graduate or possess a GED.
  3. Must be able to obtain a St. Louis Metropolitan Security License and maintain all required certifications.
  4. Previous security-related experience preferred.
  5. Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, well organized with the ability to multi-task.
  6. Safety conscious, mature, reliable, and dependable.
  7. Outgoing and friendly demeanor, with the ability to communicate effectively.
  8. Committed to providing a safe environment for our guests.
  9. Must be able to work flexible/rotating shifts including but not limited to overtime, nights, weekends, and some holidays.
  10. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  11. Must be able to climb a 50’ tower.
  12. Possess a valid driver’s license.

Other Functions: All other duties assigned or necessary to support the park as a whole.
