Brookshire Grocery Company in Tyler, TX is seeking a Security Officer to provide armed security on assigned company properties and support investigations as directed by management.

Performs uniformed security shift work and assists with investigations as directed by management.**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:*** Provides armed physical security and at assigned locations.* Assists with security training and internal investigations.* Monitors safety and security equipment and processes.* Assists with providing on-site training for newly assigned security officers.* Responsible for filling position vacancies/working flexible shifts due to scheduling conflicts.* Responsible for the use, maintenance of, and response to security alarms and other security systems at distribution centers.* Monitors and controls vehicular and pedestrian access and traffic at non-retail locations.* Complies with state and private security and safety regulations.**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:*** Basic knowledge of the warehouse communications system.* Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook.* Ability to pass post-offer medical evaluation including but not limited to medical background check, vision test, hearing test, physical agility test, etc. for job related tasks.* Ability to demonstrate how to safely operate a firearm.* Ability to comprehend and interpret information.* Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence.* Ability to research information, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.* Ability to learn new technology systems, methods and processes.* Ability to reason, form concepts and recognize and solve problems.* Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form.* Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.* Ability to occasionally travel to off-site and out-of-town locations with possible overnight stays.* Ability to work on-call and flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays.* May be required to drive in accordance with the BGC Driver policy.* Must report any potential hazards that cannot be immediately remedied to a supervisor.**Education, Experience and Qualifications:*** High School Diploma or GED required.* Two or more years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and higher education preferred.* Valid state driver's license required.* Minimum of 21 years of age required.* Partners must be 21 years of age or older to drive for Company business in accordance with the BGC Business Driver Policy.* Texas Department of Public Safety Level III certification required (must be acquired within six months of hire; training program available for uncertified candidates). (Texas Only)* Must be able to pass post-offer general physical and physical agility test for job related tasks.
