State of Missouri – St. Louis Forensic Treatment Center seeks a Security Officer to help keep the facility, staff, and clients safe. You will perform rounds, investigate incidents, and file reports to ensure order and safety.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and security experience. The position offers a comprehensive state benefits package and regular day-to-day security responsibilities on site.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct regular rounds observing the behavior of the public, employees, and clients.
• Investigate acts of vandalism or theft and assist law enforcement as needed.
• Prepare reports of infractions and maintain proper records.
• Report questionable conduct to supervisors or administrators.
• Direct traffic and provide directions in parking areas near the facility.
• Assist in security training programs and in searches for residents walking away or distressed.
• Detain unruly individuals until authorities arrive and coordinate with staff as needed.
• Dispatch facility vehicles and coordinate repairs or refueling to ensure readiness for use.

St. Louis Forensic Treatment Center provides specialized care for clients diagnosed with mental illness. We are looking for a Security Officer to ensure that our facility, including clients and staff, remain safe and undisturbed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular rounds throughout the facility and/or grounds observing the demeanor of public, employees, residents or clients
• Takes necessary action to ensure that proper conduct is followed
• Investigates acts of vandalism or theft and works closely with law enforcement officials on investigations as needed
• Prepares reports of infractions of laws, regulations and/or rules that occur on the grounds or within the building
• Reports questionable conduct of employees, residents, clients or the public to an immediate supervisor or other administrator
• Response to routine questions and provides directions to the public
• Directs and controls traffic at parking lots of public buildings/facilities. May include installing traffic signs around emergency areas
• Assists in implementing training programs involving security procedures
• Assists in organizing and conducting searches when residents/clients walk away or escape. Also assisting with distressed residents/clients
• Takes necessary action in removing unruly individuals or detaining them until proper authorities arrive
• Dispatches facility vehicles; receives reports of difficulties with vehicles and arranges for repairs and also checks oil/gas to ensure readiness for the next use
• Transports staff, residents/clients and/or suspects as needed
• Assists other facility personnel in maintaining security and ensuring that necessary precautionary measures are taken for the protection of individuals and property
• Conducts fire prevention inspections and responds to all fire alarms
• Performs work in accordance with established rules and regulations; receives supervision from a higher level Security Officer or other designated administrative supervisor
• Performs other related work as assigned

Eligibility

• Possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency
• One or more years of experience as a Security Guard with the State of Missouri, or experience in military, civilian security, law enforcement or experience within an intermediate/maximum security mental health facility performing security functions
• Possess a valid driver’s license
