Par Health seeks a Security Officer for the St. Louis Plant Site to ensure safety of employees, property and information. The role involves enforcing policies, protecting regulatory registrations, and coordinating with local emergency services across 12-hour shifts.

The ideal candidate has 5–10 years in law enforcement, an armed & licensed officer status, and strong communication and investigative skills to handle sensitive incidents and maintain a secure facility.

Qualifications

• Must be approved as an Armed & Licensed Security Officer by local authorities.
• Excellent observation, verbal and written communication, investigation, de-escalation and negotiating skills.
• Ability to enforce company policy and applicable state laws.

Responsibilities

• Prevent diversion of narcotics and protect DEA registrations.
• Coordinate with police and fire departments in emergencies.
• Issue badges to visitors and contractors; control access to site.
• Monitor alarm systems and secure lab areas, gates, and parking lots.
• Respond to emergencies including chemical, medical, fire, and weather events.

Job Description Summary

The Primary responsibility of the Security Officers is the safety and security of employees, property, information, and the reputation of the Par Health St. Louis Plant Site.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Functions include but are not limited to:
• The prevention of diversion of Schedule I through V pharmaceutical grade narcotics and list one precursor chemicals
• The protection of the DEA Registrations by following proscribed DEA Rules and Regulations
• The handling of various sensitive information/situations that relates to company property, employees, incidents, and investigations.
• Integral to emergency responses including chemical, medical, fire and weather emergencies
• Point of contact and coordination with Police and Fire Departments in emergencies
• Issuing visitors / contractor badges and ensuring that they are on the approved list to enter the site.
• Control Plant Access & Property of all Employees, Contractors, & Visitors to the site.
• Communication and dispatch center for Environmental, Safety, Security, Maintenance and Manufacturing for all plant activities
• Security patrol and surveillance of plant property and parking areas
• Monitoring Alarm Systems including authorized personnel into lab areas, gates, Security Door entry, Parking Lots, Labs and (exit and entry).
• Control Access of all persons and materials, chemical and mechanical entering and exiting the facility.
• All Officers are required to be familiar with the handling of Hazardous Material Spills, Injuries, & Emergency Response.
• Trained in criminal investigation, sabotage & industrial terrorism
• All Officers must receive continuing education through local colleges in the following areas: the St. Louis Police Department for Private Industrial Security, relative to current Industrial Security Standards; criminal law including workplace violence; and firearms training
• Position not only requires the ability to enforce all Company Policy and Procedures but must also enforce all applicable state laws.
• The Security Officer must be proficient in the proper use of force to protect employees, visitors and company property.
• They must be exceptionally proficient in this regard because of the inherent liability of the company

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
• Ability to be approved as an Armed & Licensed Security Officer/Courier by Watchmen’s Division of the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
• Skills/Competencies:
• Experience: 5-10 years of Law Enforcement.
• The position requires exceptional observation, verbal and written communication, investigation, de-escalation and negotiating skills.
• The Security officer must be able to express Company Policy to a variety of individuals.
• Many times, this verbal communication must be accomplished in potential hostile situations.
• The Officers also must make written reports of all incidents.
• 5-10 years armed Law Enforcement.
• PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS Education: Graduate of Accredited Law Enforcement Academy.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS/SCOPE

Security Officers/Guards report directly to the Security Supervisor and Head of Global Security.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The hourly rate of pay is $35.03 per the CBA. Must be flexible and responsive to the demands of the business environment as well as the potential security risks to manufacturing plants in the U.S. Working hours are 12 hour shifts rotating between days and nights on 4 day rotations. Overtime requirements can be extensive at times. Must be willing and able to wear PPE including steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, earplugs, or equipment that may be required.
