Job summary

Bothwell Regional Health Center is seeking a Security Officer to protect patients, staff and visitors, as well as organizational assets. The role reports to the Director of Security and involves monitoring security systems, patrolling, reporting incidents, and responding to emergencies.

Ideal candidates will have a High School Diploma or Equivalent, BLS certification, and 2+ years in security or related fields; firearms certification within 3 months of hire is required, with 21+ age and related

• Must be able to pass certification course in firearms within 3 months of hire.
• Attend required training as directed by BRHC leadership.
• BLS required.
• 2+ years’ experience in law enforcement, security or the military strongly encouraged.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Secures the premises by patrolling property, monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting buildings and access points.
• Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities and restraining trespassers.
• Investigates and writes reports on accidents, incidents, suspicious activities, safety and fire hazards, and other security related situations.
• Provides needed assistance to patients, employees, and visitors following department procedures.
• Immediately responds to emergencies to secure the area and provide necessary assistance.
• Works efficiently under pressure in an empathetic, positive, and professional manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education:
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Associate Degree in a related field preferred.
• Licensure/Certification:
• Must be able to pass certification course in firearms within 3 months of hire.
• Attend, complete and/or certify on training required by the BRHC Director of Security or BRHC Leadership.
• BLS required.
• Work Experience:
• 2+ years’ experience in law enforcement, security or the military strongly encouraged.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

1. Work both indoors and outside. Exposure to variety of weather conditions.

2. Frequent patient contact as well as contact with the public.

3. Involvement in hazardous or potentially violent situations is possible.

4. Duties require frequent walking, lifting, bending, and long periods of standing on feet.
