Job summary

Providence Portland Medical Center is seeking a Security Officer on full-time, variable shift. The role focuses on protecting patients, visitors, staff, physicians, and property, enforcing hospital policies, and maintaining a safe environment within the facility.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience using personal computer with standard Microsoft applications.
• Security/law enforcement experience (e.g., corrections, police, reserve, military police) preferred.
• Direct patient care experience in a healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receives general direction from the Security Manager, Supervisor or Lead Security Officer and performs security duties to protect patients, visitors, staff, physicians, property and facilities.
• Enforces PH&S, facility and security policies and regulations.

Security Officer full-time, variable shift at Providence Portland Medical Center

Receives general direction from the Security Manager, Supervisor or Lead Security Officer, performs a variety of security protective duties to protect patients, visitors, staff, physicians, property and facilities from accidents, bodily harm, fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry. Enforces PH& S, facility and security policies and regulations.

Required Qualifications:

• Upon hire: Oregon Private Security Armed/Unarmed Professional - Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training Or
• Upon hire: Oregon Private Security Unarmed Professional - Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (Vendor Managed)
• Upon hire: Private Security Temporary Work Permit PS-20
• Upon request: Driving may be necessary as part of this role. Caregivers are required to comply with all state laws and requirements for driving. Caregivers will be expected to provide proof of driver license and auto insurance upon request. See policy for additional information.
• 1 year of experience using personal computer with standard Microsoft applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Coursework/Training and College level coursework in professionally related fields such as criminal justice, social work, psychology or any social science.
• H.S. Diploma or GED
• 1 year of Security/law enforcement experience such as corrections, police, reserve and military police.
• Direct patient care experience in a healthcare industry.
