John Knox Village of Central Florida is seeking security staff to maintain a safe environment for residents, staff, and guests. Shifts include full-time overnight 11pm-7am and part-time daytime and evening blocks, requiring alert, professional conduct and adherence to campus policies.

The role involves front-line access control, patrols, incident reporting, and timely communication with the security team. English fluency and a valid Florida driver’s license are required.

Qualificações

• Must pass Level 2 background screening as required by Florida Clearinghouse.
• Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate in English.
• Hold a valid Florida Driver's License for mobility and assignments.

Responsabilidades

• Provide staffing at all JKV entry gate houses and verify access for vehicles.
• Patrol buildings and grounds by foot, security vehicle or golf cart.
• Perform welfare checks on residents and assist when needed.
• Answer telephones, route calls and assist callers.
• Write incident reports and perform basic data entry in MS Office.
• Respond calmly to stressful situations and follow security policies.
• Dispatch code calls and incident reports promptly.
• Lock/unlock buildings and manage resident/staff lock-outs.
• Communicate with security and other staff via handheld radio.
• Follow supervisor directions and work cooperatively in a team.

Job Summary:

Provide a safe, secure environment for JKV residents, employees, visitors, and property

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

• Provide staffing at all JKV entry gate houses, confirming approved access of all vehicle entries;


• Patrol on foot, security vehicle or golf cart all buildings and grounds ensuring safety and suspicious activity are handled in accordance to JKV Security policies and procedures;


• Provide welfare checks on residents and assist with other duties in the absence of facilities or transportation staff.


• Answer telephone, route calls to appropriate staff and provide general assistance to the caller.


• Write incident reports and operate a computer with basic data entry and Microsoft Office skills;


• Effectively deals with stressful situations, remains calm and stays mentally sharp, assuring sound judgement by referring to security policies and procedures;


• Respond and dispatch all code calls, motor vehicle incidents and any suspicious activity reports;


• Locking and unlocking of buildings and application of requested lock-outs by residents or staff;


• Communicates with security staff and other departmental staff on a hand-held 2-way radio;


• Works cooperatively in a team environment and able to follow instructions given by supervisor or manager;

Other Functions And Responsibilities

• Assists as instructed by the resident nurse in lifting and transferring residents;


• Other duties as requested or assigned.

Working Conditions

• Routinely patrols inside and outside of buildings requiring extensive walking and standing;


• Routinely works various shifts and days and stay mentally sharp


• Exposures to all types of weather, noise, odors, chemicals temperature, infectious diseases, etc.


• On-call or overtime requirements 24/7
