Role Description

The Security Officer role at Signal is a full-time, on-site position based in the Greater Ocala Area. Security Officers are responsible for patrolling assigned locations, monitoring for suspicious activity, and responding to incidents to protect people, property, and assets. Daily tasks include maintaining a visible security presence, completing accurate incident and activity reports, and following established post orders and safety protocols. The role may involve access control duties, such as verifying identification, managing visitor entry, and ensuring compliance with site policies. Security Officers also engage with clients and the public in a professional manner, de-escalate potential conflicts when possible, and communicate effectively with supervisors, law enforcement, and emergency services as needed.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated ability to remain alert, observant, and responsive during patrols and stationary posts.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact professionally with clients, visitors, and team members.
  • Capacity to follow detailed procedures, complete accurate documentation, and adhere to company and site-specific policies.
  • Ability to assess situations quickly, exercise sound judgment, and apply basic conflict resolution or de-escalation techniques.
  • Physical capability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods, and work outdoors or in varied environmental conditions.
  • High level of reliability, integrity, and respect for confidentiality and ethical standards.
  • Prior security, law enforcement, or military experience is beneficial but not required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant security training or certifications are a plus.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain any required state or local security licenses for the Greater Ocala Area.
  • Availability to work a full-time schedule, including evenings, nights, weekends, or holidays as needed.
