Job summary

Samaritan's Purse is seeking a Security Officer for our North Wilkesboro, NC campus. You will maintain security, monitor access, patrol facilities, and respond to incidents to protect staff and visitors.

Qualified candidates have Basic Law Enforcement Training and at least 2 years as a law enforcement officer, with English fluency and a proactive, trustworthy demeanor. Position is full-time and on-site with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Basic Law Enforcement Training and minimum 2 years' experience as a Law Enforcement Officer or equivalent.
• Eligible to complete/pass annual PPS training and certification as a PPS Officer through the North Carolina State Attorney General's office
• Basic keyboarding and computer skills are strongly preferred
• Fluency in English is required

Responsibilities

• Maintain a vigilant security presence to deter and respond to threats.
• Screen access for staff, visitors, and contractors and monitor security systems.
• Conduct regular patrols, operate alarms, CCTV, and access-control systems.
• Document incidents in shift logs and coordinate with local law enforcement when needed.
• Assist in emergencies and protect people and property on Samaritan's Purse campus.

Samaritan's Purse is hiring a Security Officer to join our team in North Wilkesboro, NC. In this vital role, you'll help ensure the safety and security of our staff, visitors, and property across the Samaritan's Purse campus. In the role of Security Officer,you will have the opportunity to:

Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ.

Conduct yourself as a security professional at all times, maintaining a visible and welcoming presence that helps deter undesirable activity and supports a safe ministry environment.

Screen pedestrian and vehicular traffic, control access during non-business hours, and open, close, and secure buildings according to established schedules and procedures.

Conduct regular physical patrols and monitor video surveillance, access-control systems, fire and burglar alarms, and other security equipment to identify threats, hazards, or unauthorized activity.

Greet staff and visitors, whenever practical, remain familiar with Samaritan's Purse facilities, policies, procedures, and safety regulations, and promptly identify threatening individuals and notify local law enforcement when necessary.

Report hazardous conditions, follow established emergency call-in procedures, and accurately document noteworthy activity in shift logs or incident reports, helping protect people and property in support of the ministry's mission.
