Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Officer in Newton, NC to provide front desk security at an industrial site. You will enforce site procedures, greet visitors, issue badges, and monitor access points while maintaining logs and coordinating with site personnel.

The role offers flexible hours with Fixed-Shift Anchor Commitment and a program to pick up additional shifts to increase earnings, up to a 40-hour week when needed.

Qualifications

• A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Proof of a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and/or vendors at a front desk within a manufacturing and industrial location by carrying out site‑specific procedures and security‑related policies.
• Monitor access to the location by greeting visitors, verifying identification and credentials, issuing visitor badges, and maintaining accurate visitor logs.
• Communicate professionally with site personnel and visitors, provide directions and information, and help direct individuals to appropriate contacts or areas.
• Monitor designated access points, alarms, cameras, and/or communication systems, reporting unusual activity or concerns according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following emergency response activities and notifying appropriate personnel.

As a Security Officer in Newton, NC, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $18.93 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Wed 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.
