Job summary

The Brooklyn Hospital Center is seeking a Security Officer to protect patients, staff and visitors, prevent trespass, fire and vandalism, and identify those entering the hospital. You will regulate crowds, direct traffic and help uphold hospital policies to ensure a safe, secure environment.

The role requires NY State licenses and security certifications, plus the ability to write clear reports, stand for long periods and lift 25 lbs or more in a 37.5 hour shift from 4:00p to 12:00a.

Qualifications

• New York State driver license and security credentials required.
• Fire guard certification and NY security certification preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly in reports and daily logs.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift 25 lbs or more.

Responsibilities

• Valid New York State Driver's License within one year of employment
• New York State Security License
• FDNY Certificate of Fitness (FO1 -- Fire Guard) within 90 days of employment
• Active New York State Security Guard Certification
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
• Ability to write clear and concise report
• Ability to perform basic computer operations
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• ability to lift >25lbs.

Job Description

The Security Officer protects patients, staff and visitors of The Brooklyn Hospital Center from trespass, fire and vandalism. The position identifies persons entering the Hospital. Regulates crowds, directs traffic and preserves law and order throughout the Hospital. Ensure all hospital and departmental policies are adhered to, as well as ensuring customer satisfaction.
