Job summary

Gate City Casino in Nashua, NH is hiring a part-time Security Officer to maintain a safe environment for guests and team members. You will check IDs, escort cash, report incidents, patrol the property and assist during emergencies.

The role requires strong communication, the ability to de-escalate conflicts, and licensing by the State Gaming Commission. Shift times include evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Must be able to be licensed by State Gaming Commission.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Check IDs for proper admittance to the gaming floor.
• Conduct cash escorts as required.
• Observe, handle, and report procedural violations and illegal activity.
• Operate a motorized vehicle when necessary.
• Maintain crowd control as required.
• Defuse guest profanity and handle issues professionally.
• Ensure the safety and security of guests, employees and assets.
• Patrol all areas of the property.
• Monitor for suspicious activity and safety hazards.
• Assist guests during emergencies, evacuations and medical incidents.
• Respond to calls for service calmly and professionally.
• De-escalate conflicts using verbal techniques.
• Complete accurate incident reports and security logs.
• Secure evidence and coordinate with local law enforcement.

Delaware North Gaming is hiring a part-time Security Officer to join our team at Gate City Casino in Nashua, New Hampshire. As a Security Guard, you will ensure a safe and secure environment for our guests and team members. If you are looking for a role offering teamwork, excitement, and career growth.

Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays: 9:15pm-1:15am

Pay

$20.00 - $24.00 / hour

What will you do?

• Monitor for suspicious activity, unauthorized behavior, and safety hazards
• Assist guests/employees during emergencies, evacuations and/or medical incidents
• Respond to calls for service, accidents, violations of NH and/or Federal Law and gaming laws, rules and regulations in a calm and professional manner
• De-escalate conflicts using verbal and non-verbal techniques
• Complete accurate, complete and detailed incident reports, security logs and daily activity reports
• Secure evidence when needed and coordinate with local law enforcement

More about you

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to be licensed by State Gaming Commission
• Ability to defuse difficult and sometimes emotionally charged situations when handling guest issues or complaints
• Ability to maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Prior law enforcement, security or military experience preferred; hospitality/customer service experience a plus
• Clear a criminal background check
• Strong verbal communication, observation and report writing skills (must be able to document incidents via the use of a computer)
• Administer medical assistance to guests and employees once certified in CPR/First-Aid/AED/BBP by the employee

Physical requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
• Ability to communicate through two way radio
• Bending, stooping, lifting and carrying occasionally
• Vision sufficient to perform duties day or night
• Exposure to an occasionally smoky and loud environment
