Job summary

Platinum-Group-Security is seeking a Security Officer for our Coconut Grove location in Florida. This full-time role offers hourly pay ranging from $17.00 to $19.00, with opportunities for growth and professional development within a leading security company.

You will maintain a professional presence, monitor entrances, ensure safety of personnel and property, and respond to incidents while following procedures and collaborating with law enforcement as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Florida Class D Security License.
• Background check and drug screening required.
• Experience in security or related field preferred.
• Primary post Coconut Grove.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible, professional presence to deter crime and ensure safety of personnel, visitors, and property.
• Monitor and authorize entrance following proper procedure.
• Ensure physical safety of the bank.
• Comply with branch standard operating procedures.
• Respond promptly to security incidents, emergencies, and alarms.
• Use excellent customer service to deescalate tense situations.
• Collaborate with law enforcement or emergency services as needed.
• Document incidents and observations using company-approved forms.
• Inspect premises for risks and report findings to the appropriate personnel.
• Maintain current unarmed security licensure in Florida.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible and professional presence to deter illegal activities and ensure the safety of personnel, visitors, and property.
• Monitor and authorize entrance while following proper procedure.
• Ensures physical safety of the bank.
• Comply with the standard operating procedures for the branch.
• Respond promptly and appropriately to security incidents, emergencies, and alarms.
• Use excellent customer service and communication skills to deescalate tense or potentially violent situations.
• Collaborate with law enforcement or emergency services as needed.
• Accurately document and report incidents, activities, and observations using company-approved forms and protocols.
• Inspect the premises for security risks, hazards, or violations and report findings to the appropriate personnel.
• Comply with all state regulations, including maintaining current unarmed security licensure in Florida.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Must be capable of functioning independently and remaining calm in high-pressure or intense situations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Class “D” Security License in the state of Florida.
• Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in high-stress environments while demonstrating professionalism and sound judgment.
• Must pass a background check and drug screening.
• Primary post will be at Coconut Grove
