Job summary

PGSUSA in Boca Raton, FL is hiring for a Gate House Security Officer to maintain a visible, professional presence at our gated communities and deter unauthorized access. This full-time role requires vigilance, quick decision-making, and a commitment to safety.

You'll monitor entrances, document incidents, coordinate with responders when needed, and uphold Florida licensing requirements. Competitive hourly pay ($15–$20) plus benefits, with schedules that vary across the week.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Security License in the state of Florida.
• Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in high-stress environments while demonstrating professionalism and sound judgment.
• Must pass a background check.
• Availability to work: various schedules available
• Primary post will be at one of our gated communities in Florida.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible and professional presence to deter illegal activities and ensure the safety of personnel, visitors, and property.
• Monitor and authorize entrance of people in the property while following proper procedure to grant access to visitors, vendors and contractors.
• Watch alarm systems or video cameras and operate detecting/emergency equipment.
• Take accurate notes of unusual occurrences.
• Monitor and control access points, verifying credentials and ensuring only authorized individuals enter designated areas.
• Respond promptly and appropriately to security incidents, emergencies, and alarms.
• Use excellent customer service and communication skills to deescalate tense or potentially violent situations.
• Collaborate with law enforcement or emergency services as needed.
• Accurately document and report incidents, activities, and observations using company-approved forms and protocols.
• Inspect the premises for security risks, hazards, or violations and report findings to the appropriate personnel.
• Comply with all state regulations, including maintaining current security licensure in Florida .
