Securitas USA is hiring a Security Officer in Lawrence, Kansas. The role requires a high school diploma or GED and offers full-time hours with competitive pay of $19 per hour. You will patrol, monitor cameras, verify access, and respond to incidents to protect people and property.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols of premises to identify security risks.

• Enforce security policies and procedures for all personnel and visitors.
• Inspect doors and equipment to prevent unauthorized access.

Objectives

• Ensure the safety and security of personnel, property, and company assets.
• Maintain a secure environment that protects employees, customers, and visitors from harm.
• Help prevent theft, vandalism, unauthorized access, and other security threats.
• Respond effectively to emergencies and security incidents to minimize risk and damage.
• Uphold company policies, safety regulations, and legal compliance standards.
• Provide visible deterrence against criminal activity and suspicious behavior.
• Support organizational operations by creating a safe and secure workplace.
• Protect sensitive information and intellectual property from unauthorized access.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols of premises including buildings, parking lots, & entry points to identify potential security risks.
• Monitor and operate surveillance cameras, alarm systems, and security equipment.
• Control building access by verifying identification, checking credentials, and managing visitor logs.
• Respond promptly to alarms, disturbances, emergencies, and security incidents.
• Enforce security protocols, company rules, and regulations for premises, personnel, and visitors.
• Inspect doors, windows, gates, and security equipment to prevent unauthorized access.
• Investigate suspicious activities, behavior, and security breaches.
• Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain accurate logs of daily activities and observations.
• Coordinate with law enforcement, fire departments, and emergency medical personnel when necessary.
• Provide guidance to employees and visitors on safety protocols and emergency procedures.
• Assist in evacuations and other emergency actions as required.

Requirements

• 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Above average computer / technology skills needed.
• Previous experience as a security officer, law enforcement, or military service a plus!!
• Excellent customer service and team leadership skills needed.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Must have the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Must have great attention to detail and remain vigilant throughout shift.
• Must be able to respond to emergencies with rapid / effective judgment and use appropriate escalation.
• Must have strong observational skills, excellent communication abilities, and quick decision-making capabilities.
• All candidates must be willing to participate in the Company’s pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation.
