Job summary

DK Security, Inc. is seeking uniform security officers to protect sites, assets, and people in Inkster, MI. You will perform access control, patrol interiors and exteriors, and respond to emergencies while delivering exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities include monitoring CCTV, checking identifications, and reporting hazards. Requires a valid Michigan driver license and a high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED.
• Pass a drug screening at hire and randomly thereafter.
• No felonies on record per MCL 338.1060.
• No misdemeanors related to dishonesty, fraud, impersonation of law enforcement, or weapons.
• Able to sit, stand, and walk 8–12 hours.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Able to respond to emergencies.
• Visual acuity to 20 feet.
• Hear conversations in loud environments.
• Read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
• Professionalism and customer service.
• Ability to work independently.

• Operate x-ray or metal detection equipment where deployed.

• No smoking while in uniform.
• Other duties as assigned.

Uniform Security Officers are responsible for protecting the site’s building, grounds, assets, employees, students and visitors against criminal activity, accidents, fires and natural disasters, as well as providing outstanding customer service to our customers, clients, and visitors.

JOB DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Access Control - Ensure only authorized individuals are allowed access to the site.
• Foot Patrol - Walk the interior and exterior of the various buildings on site, keeping an eye out for security, safety, or maintenance issues.
• Mobile Patrol - Patrol parking lots, roads, building exteriors and remote locations in a security vehicle.
• Must provide excellent customer service when dealing with Clients, Customers, Co-Workers, etc.
• Guard posts – this may include building lobbies or reception areas.
• Monitor surroundings on closed-circuit television.
• Check for employee and vendor identifications.
• Look for suspicious persons, packages and activities.
• May provide first aid or other medical treatment in emergency situations.
• May operate x-ray and/or metal detection equipment where the equipment is deployed.
• Must follow site specific post guidelines.
• Will report potentially hazardous conditions and items in need of repair including lighting, plumbing, wet floors, etc.
• Document daily activities and incident reports.
• Officers will NOT smoke while in DK Uniform, on or off duty.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and have at least a high school diploma or equivalent education certification, such as a GED, per MCL 338.1067
• 17(2).
• Must be able to pass a drug screening at the time of hire and randomly thereafter (including for marijuana). Since our company contracts with the federal government, we must comply to federal laws regarding the use of marijuana, regardless of whether it is used recreationally or medicinally.
• Must not have been convicted of any felonies, per MCL 338.1060
• 10(1)(c).
• Must not have been convicted of any misdemeanors related to dishonesty, fraud, impersonation of law enforcement, assault, weapons, unauthorized sale of information or evidence, controlled substances (including for marijuana), or two or more alcohol related offenses, per MCL 338.1060
• 10(1)(c).
• Must be able to sit, stand, and walk, including up and down stairs, for 8-12 hours at a time.
• Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be readily able to respond to emergency situations
• Must be able to see clearly at least 20 feet away (assisted with glasses or contact lenses if necessary).
• Must be able to hear conversations in loud environments either in-person or via radio.
• Must be able to use a smart mobile phone or computer to check emails and complete online training.
• Must be able to fluently read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Must be professional and possess excellent customer service skills.
• Must have excellent personal integrity and a positive attitude.
• Must complete required trainings on time and adhere to all client and company policies.
• Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
