Dunbar Security Solutions in Harrisonburg, VA is seeking a part-time Security Officer to support a safe shopping environment on weekends. The role involves monitoring activity, responding to alarms, and delivering professional customer service while upholding store policies.

Responsibilities

• Monitor activity to ensure a safe environment for customers and employees.
• Observe visitor and employee behavior for suspicious activity and report concerns to management.
• Respond to exit door alarms and verify receipts when alarms are activated.
• Conduct routine patrols throughout the building and surrounding areas.
• Document incidents, suspicious activity, and security concerns in written reports.
• Work closely with store management and staff to address safety or security issues.
• Provide professional customer service while enforcing store policies.

Schedule: Saturday & Sunday 8am - 4pm

Job Summary: The Security Officer will assist staff in maintaining a safe and secure shopping environment for customers and employees. The officer will monitor activity and respond to security alarms while providing professional customer service.

Essential Functions:

• Monitor activity to ensure a safe environment for customers and employees.
• Observe visitor and employee behavior for suspicious activity and report concerns to management.
• Respond to exit door alarms and politely verify receipts when alarms are activated.
• Conduct routine patrols throughout the building and surrounding areas to identify potential security concerns.
• Document incidents , suspicious activity, and security concerns in written reports.
• Work closely with store management and staff to address safety or security issues.
• Provide professional customer service while enforcing store policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
