Job summary

The Highlands at Harbor Springs is seeking a professional Security Officer to help create a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for guests, team members and resort property in Northern Michigan.

This full-time, year-round role involves patrolling premises, responding to emergencies and guest service requests, enforcing resort policies, and coordinating with local law enforcement, EMS, and fire services as needed. Training and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Military, law enforcement, security, EMS, firefighter, or other first responder experience preferred but not required.
• Previous security, hospitality, customer service, military, or emergency response experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Watching for unusual, illegal, or dangerous activities and patrolling premises.
• Responds to guest and employee incidents to enforce rules and assist with issues.
• Assisting Law Enforcement / EMS / and Fire services.
• Providing First Aid / CPR.
• Investigating and filing after a guest accident.
• Assist with housekeeping/maintenance calls after hours.
• Monitor and file key control for the resort property.
• Secure and un-securing areas of operations for staff.
• Record lost and found items.
• Provide medical equipment and safety equipment to staff.
• Monitor gas meters and report to corporate.
• File all incident reports.
• Patrol in vehicle or on foot and report suspicious activity.
• Shuttle and ski valet service calls after hours.
• Report hazardous roof snow conditions.
• Monitor sprinkler shutoffs and area rules.
• Enforce trespassing policies.

Overview

The Highlands at Harbor Springs is seeking a professional, dependable, and service-oriented Security Officer to join our team. As a Security Officer, you play a vital role in creating a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for our guests, team members, and resort property. This position is responsible for protecting resort assets, responding to emergencies and guest service requests, enforcing resort policies, and assisting with a wide variety of operational needs. Security Officers serve as first responders for many on-property incidents and work closely with local law enforcement, fire, and EMS agencies when needed. Responsibilities

• Monitor and checking sprinkler shutoffs, associational-parking/rule violations.
• Maintain and enforce all trespassing violations on the resort property.
• Enforcing federal, state, local, and resort rules on property.

Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Military, law enforcement, security, EMS, firefighter, or other first responder experience is preferred but not required.

Experience

• Previous security, hospitality, customer service, military, or emergency response experience is preferred.
• Entry-level candidates with strong customer service skills and the ability to learn are encouraged to apply.

Required Skills

• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and email systems.
