Job summary

Greensboro-College is seeking a dedicated Security Officer to help ensure the safety of students, staff and visitors. The role involves patrolling campus grounds, monitoring alarms, and enforcing campus rules and parking regulations throughout the day and night.

The officer will respond to incidents, provide escorts, and assist at large events such as athletic games and commencements, while maintaining clear communication and providing exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and 21 years of age.
• Minimum of one year of related work experience, preferably in an institutional or campus environment.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to respond quickly to incidents.
• Clear communication, good customer relations and sound decision-making in emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Advices, directs and provides information to students, employees and the public.
• Patrols campus by foot, golf cart and vehicle; ensure doors and windows are secured.
• Responds to calls for service and opens/closes facilities; monitors alarms.
• Controls access to buildings and escorts as needed; handles safety and security checks.
• Enforces parking regulations and assists at large campus events.
• Completes first aid and CPR training; operates an AED as required.
• Conducts preliminary investigations and participates in searches when appropriate.

JOB SUMMARY:The Security Officer is responsible for the safety and security of the college community. Responsible for enforcing the college rules, parking and traffic regulations, and providing other security and safety related services.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Advices, directs and provides information to students, employees and the publicPatrols designated areas by foot, golf cart and vehicle. Patrols campus including buildings, grounds, parking lots and adjacent streets; sees that doors and windows are properly secured and locked; safeguards property of the campus. Assumes fixed post assignments.Responds to calls for service and assistanceOpens and closes facilities. Monitors alarm systems and responds when necessary.
