Job Summary

Directs the affairs of the Safety Committee and maintains close communication with administration regarding safety matters requiring management action.

Essential Functions

1. Performs all functions of the assigned shift.
2. Performs tasks related to fire and life safety conditions.
3. Acts as a security liaison with hospital staff, visitors, patients, and physicians.
4. Conducts security tours in offsite locations and surrounding areas.
5. Demonstrates presence and customer service skills in high-risk situations.
6. Advises on hazards created by adverse weather conditions.
7. Takes proper action to address any identified safety hazards.
8. Demonstrates de-escalation skills in confrontation situations.
9. Completes all assignments as deemed necessary through security observation.
10. Maintains an assigned schedule and can cover all shifts.
11. Maintains time and attendance in accordance with hospital policy.
12. Provides reports on hospital environmental safety, fire drills, and life safety as required.
13. Maintains protocols for the morgue, patient belongings, and valuables.
14. Conducts incident and investigative reports.
15. Participates in job training for the Security Department.
16. Stays current with education on fire, safety, security, and human resources requirements.

Minimum Education/Certifications

High school diploma or equivalent required. NJ SORA License and CPR certification required.

Minimum Work Experience
