Job summary

C. Steinweg Baltimore Inc. is seeking a Security Officer to patrol facilities, monitor CCTV, and report suspicious activity to maintain site security. The role requires flexibility to work indoors and outdoors, in all weather, with safety gear provided by the company.

You'll be responsible for signing in visitors, maintaining logs, and ensuring doors and premises are secure 24/7; prior security or law enforcement experience and good communication skills are preferred.

General Job Description:

As a C. Steinweg (Baltimore) Security Officer you will be responsible to maintain the security and aid in the safety of the employees, temps and visitors. Patrol facility, watch CCTV and observe and report any suspicious activity to maintain security of all C. Steinweg (Baltimore) properties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Working environment:

You will be required to work both indoor and outside. Outside work is under extreme weather conditions.. For example: rain, snow, cold, or hot temperatures. The only exception is lightning; then we are on standby until it passes over.

Safety requirements:

You are required to wear safety gear in designated areas of the facilities.

We will provide hardhats, safety vests, gloves, eye protection and raincoats as required. You are expected to report to work properly dressed in uniforms. Black or Brown shoes and belt are required. We provide lockers at all locations with combination locks to keep your gear and uniforms here.

Working Hours:

Security operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, holidays included. Overtime is voluntary. Schedules are set. Overtime may be scheduled at one or more of the C. Steinweg (Baltimore) facilities. You must not leave your post until you are properly relieved.

Assignment:

• Must maintain a clean criminal record and remain drug and alcohol free.
• Must maintain a professional appearance and attitude and possess good people skills.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds and walk at least 1 mile.
• You will be required to inspect and maintain all equipment at your post this includes keys, radios, site phone and log books. You are to report any damages to the Security Manager immediately.
• Keep your working area clean by picking up all trash and emptying the receptacles when needed.
• Must be vigilant and observant of suspicious activity and report it to the Security Management immediately.
• Monitor CCTV
• Must issue and collect appropriate C. Steinweg visitor/temp ID badges
• You will be required to make rounds and ensure the premises and buildings are secure
• You must respond to alarms and accurately document necessary details to inform your Security Manager.
• Must accurately fill out and maintain high security logs
• You are required to read, reply, and write emails
• You will be responsible for signing in and out visitors, temps and employees
• You are required to ensure all paperwork is properly organized, filed, and copies are made when needed.
• You are required to check ID/TWIC, accurately record information and ensure we have appropriate notification before anyone enters onto the premises
• You must sign all trucks in and out, direct trucks and personnel to appropriate areas and taking down information while being able to do this in extreme conditions
• You must ensure that all security protocols are strictly adhered too
• You are to ensure the facilities are armed before management leaves for the day
• Must maintain a calm and collected demeanor when dealing with local Police or Federal agencies

Skills Required:

• Prior military, security or law enforcement background desired.
• Prior MTSA experience preferred
• Must have basic reading and writing skills, and be able to record information onto daily logs and reports.
• Must be self motivated, organized and able to complete some assignments without supervision.
• Must possess common sense and the ability to exercise sound judgment.
• Must possess basic computer skills.
• Must have basic knowledge of Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel programs.
• Must possess good communication (Radio and Telephone) skills.
