Job description

The university is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as a Security Officer on the Campus Safety and Security team. This is a full-time, 2nd shift position (4pm-midnight).

Responsibilities include:

1. Following established security rounds
2. Monitoring security radio
3. Enforcing parking regulations
4. Opening and closing buildings and monitoring their mechanical operations
5. Assisting police and fire departments with campus incidents
6. Writing security reports
7. Responding to service/emergency calls
8. Performing occasional light maintenance (changing light bulbs, smoke detector batteries, shoveling snow, etc.)

Position requires extensive walking outdoors and indoors in all weather conditions.

Requirements:

• High school diploma
• Knowledge of building and grounds security procedures
• Valid driver's license
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Preferred: experience in security, CPR, AED, first aid, or first responder certification
• A criminal background check will be conducted prior to hire
