Job summary

Methodist Health System is seeking a Commissioned (Armed) Security Officer to safeguard patients, visitors and staff across its Dallas facilities. You will patrol campuses, assist with access control, provide escorts, and document security observations in clear reports.

Officers serve as a visible deterrent to criminal activity, and may serve in both static and roving posts in and around the assigned facility. Officers identify security-related issues and recommend actions to address them. Additional duties include documenting observations and activities in well-written reports, using proper grammar, spelling and punctuation. Security officers assist staff with combative or aggressive patients, and use appropriate de-escalation techniques to stabilize volatile incidents and protect the public. Officers must be capable of using lawful and reasonable force, when necessary, to defend themselves and others. Successful officers must be able to multi-task and respond promptly and efficiently to calls for service and to address incidents that require security intervention. Security officers also respond to assist peace officers and other security personnel, when needed. Officers must be able to maintain required certifications on an annual basis.
