Presbyterian Village North is seeking a Security Officer to protect residents and staff on a full-time basis with flexible weekend shifts. You will patrol the campus, respond to incidents, and coordinate with the front desk to ensure safety and security across the facility.

The role requires excellent English communication, the ability to adapt to schedule changes, and a compassionate approach to elder care in a faith-based senior living environment.

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Must adjust to changes in shift schedule.
• Able to pass FBI background check for Texas licensing.
• Experience in security or building services preferred.
• Ability to communicate with residents, staff and visitors.
• Calm under pressure and capable of problem solving.
• Genuine caring for mature adults, including hospice patients.
• Comply with safety policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Models a service attitude towards others, takes ownership in solving problems and takes the initiative to make things better
• Is friendly and courteous to residents, patients and co-workers
• Ensure resident/patient, visitor, and co-worker safety by remaining aware of and reporting any new or existing safety hazards
• Patrol grounds to ensure no one is on the property without permission
• Stays in contact with receptionist and other personnel to ensure safety of property
• Reacts to 911 calls to meet ambulance or fire department at the front gate and escort them to the appropriate building
• Assists residents who need special care to navigate the property
• Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English language
• Must be able to adjust to changes in shift schedule
• Must be capable of passing an FBI background investigation to facilitate licensing by the Texas Department of Public Safety, Private Security Bureau
• Previous experience with security/ or other building services required
• Able to communicate with the elderly population, other staff members, and visitors
• Ability to effectively resolve problems
• Ability to gain trust of the resident population
• Ability to react quickly to unknown circumstances and remain calm
• Ability to perform Essential Duties
• Genuine caring for and interest in the care of mature adults, persons with disabilities and hospice patients
• Ability to perform work tasks within the Physical Demand Requirements
• Ability to comply with the Resident Bill of Rights and Employee Responsibilities
• Ability to comply with organizational and departmental safety policies and procedures
