Responsibilities

• Monitor entrances, exits, waiting areas, and common spaces to maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
• Provide a visible security presence and respond promptly to safety concerns or disturbances.
• Greet and assist patients and visitors in a professional, respectful, and customer-service-oriented manner.
• De-escalate disruptive, aggressive, or potentially unsafe situations using crisis intervention and conflict resolution techniques.
• Enforce organizational policies, visitor procedures, and safety protocols.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies, including medical, behavioral health crises, fire alarms, and evacuation situations.
• Collaborate with clinical staff, leadership, law enforcement, and emergency responders when necessary.
• Assist with monitoring patient flow and maintaining order in high-traffic lobby and waiting room areas.
• Support staff during difficult interactions or situations involving distressed patients or visitors.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and organizational privacy standards.
• Monitor security cameras.
• Participate in required training, drills, and safety meetings.
• Maintain professionalism and composure while working with diverse and vulnerable populations in a downtown community healthcare setting.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced healthcare setting while providing excellent customer service to diverse populations.
